CBD Tinctures: Understanding Your Dose
Most people are not aware of how much CBD they have actually taken or are taking. It is important to understand that “One Dropper-Full” or ‘“10 Drops” is NOT a quantifiable dose. What matters most is the amount of active ingredients, measured in milligrams (mg) taken in a serving size. To know what dose you are actually taking you should read the information on your bottle and do some simple math:
The amount of oil the bottle(Volume): There are 15ml/30ml/60ml bottles, with 30ml bottle being the most common on the market.
Check the product label to see how many milligrams of CBD are in the full bottle.
Divide the total milligrams of CBD by the number of milliliters in the bottle.
Example: 1500mg of CBD in a 30ml bottle means that there is 50mg of CBD in every milliliter.
Make sure that your bottle of oil has a “graduated dropper” with .25ml, .50ml, .75ml and 1ml marks, so that it's easy to measure your dose. In the example above .25ml will have 12.5mg of CBD.
Note: Unfortunately, there are many companies on the market that have misleading numbers and words on their packaging, therefore it is important to look at the 3rd party lab report of the product that you are consuming to verify that the information about the active ingredients is accurate.
